Here’s the husband and wife duo fishing with us in the Everglades. Their fishing trip was actually out of Flamingo which is just a short drive west of Miami. During their trip they got to catch many Redfish, Snook, and even a Tarpon on light tackle spinning rods.
This is a shot taken last week while fishing in Flamingo. It’s of migrating birds flying down to South Florida for the winter time. Here’s a cool shot taken while Miami Shark Fishing last week. The father and son team came down from Alabama to go Shark and Tarpon fishing here in the Florida Keys. They caught Tarpon up to 200 lbs. in the evening and sharks up to 8 feet long on the flats during the day. Not a bad way to spend a vacation.

This shot was taken by a client from the Northeast that was down here on a Miami Fishing Charter. Together we caught a bunch of fish in the backcountry of Flamingo just west of Homestead. Seeing this sunset was a great way to end a spectacular fishing day.
This is a really nice Everglades backcountry Snook. Rob from New York was using soft plastic baits “Texas Rigged” which means weedless. The best time of year to come down and juvenile Tarpon fish here in south Florida is end of summer and early winter. The fishing in the backcountry of Flamingo really lights up with the hot temperatures. If you’d like to catch these great Tarpon on fly give us a shout.
Well I know normally this site is dedicated to Bonefish but because of the really high winds we had this week I took my clients into the backcountry for some snook and juvenile tarpon fishing. It was totally the best move because we had a ball catching fish all day long. Mostly smaller Snook and Tarpon but still a whole lot of action with the fly rod.
